That gun could be re blued without any trouble by any competent gunsmith. Parkerizing is for corrosion resistance or to cover a very bad surface finish. I did my keltec with Parkerizing and a coating to give me corrosion resistance because of all the pocket carry it gets. I had some bad rust pitting in the slide from so much body moisture. But I have carried it every day all day for over 3 years in my pocket. It is very hard to get a polished surface like a blued gun to hold rust preventing oils. Phosphate coatings like Parkerizing are porous so they hold oil or better yet a coating. Dura-Coat is done over Parkerizing I am told by a local shop that applies it. After looking at the pictures of your MK2 I would have it re-blued. But if you want it parkerized I will do it.

In the same case as I kept the Ruger I had a 357 King Cobra that was damaged in a simular way. I had that reblued. The Gun Smith that did it said he didnt think the Ruger was worth doing. He charged me 300.00 for the King Cobra. I know now that I most likely paid too much but that Gun is going for 900.00 and up. Now if Ruger would do it for not too much it would be worth it. What do you think.

I couldn't look at the puke green on the keltec any longer so I spent some time with a little high power solvent and a plastic brush. Parkerized looks much better.

Check out the pocket holster I carry it in. Nice to be able to make a holster for a specific use.

If I have to shoot it out of that holster one is all I will need.
